The Venezuelan Association of
Watercolorists (AVA) is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is the
diffusion of watercolor. It was created on July 23rd, 1990. The AVA members
include developing watercolorists, artists interested in watercolor, and
experienced professionals.
FOUNDERS
AVA founders were: Mary Glez, Zula Machnowski, Gilberto Mendoza,
Dana Liang, Helen Mortlock, Amira de Akel, Hildemary Vizcaya, Gredán, Johnny
Isaac, Alicia Coll, Felo, María Teresa Oquendo, Encarna Cantavella, Carmen
Hernández, Víctor de la Torre, Teresa Roldán, Fabienne Pan y Alberto Coll.
ACTIVITIES
- Workshops
- Plain air painting at a variety of locations
- Lectures by members and by distinguished guest artists
- National and International exhibits with the previous selection made by a
prestigious jury of recognized artists and art critics.
- Celebration of “International Day of Watercolor” on November 23rd along
with other watercolor associations world wide.
